The gallery concept has gradually emerged as a counterbalance to a society characterized by pace and overachievement.
We believe that art can be a tool that can contribute to quality of life and presence. The gallery focuses on genuine art that is meaningful rather than decoration and trends.
Vision
To contribute to increased focus on the voice and role of art in people's quality of life, without raising your voice or fighting for attention. Art can and does play a big role, consciously or unconsciously. Awareness provides a better basis for good choices.
About the name
Citti is a deliberate neologism, inspired by the Italian città and the philosophy behind Cittaslow.
The Cittaslow ideology emphasizes an awareness of pace, quality and presence. Core values are: local roots, sustainable solutions, respect for tradition, craftsmanship and the uniqueness of the place, resistance to standardization and over-optimization.
Cittislow continues this as an independent artistic space, a space where there is time, presence and plenty of space for things that otherwise don't get much space.
The project is inspired by the Cittaslow movement's core ideas, especially human sustainability, but is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of the Cittaslow organization.
The name is deliberately shifted from linguistic correctness to accommodate the undefined. It is not perfection, but an attitude.
